St. John's Lutheran Church
Center Square, PA
Our firm was entrusted with the challenge of designing several additions and alterations to maintain the integrity and charm of this historic 19th century church while better incorporating its c.1950s educational and social building. The existing brick facade of the educational & social building did not complement the church's original look. A new addition was added to connect the two buildings, containing a large Narthex/Gathering space, handicapped toilets and elevator access to five different existing levels, Pastor and Church offices, vesting area, sacristy and one classroom. An eight-classroom addition to the Parish building was also added. At the interior, renovations in the sanctuary provided for more Communion railing, a free-standing Altar and central Pulpit.
